As a home gardener, I prefer to use organic substances for my garden. It protects both environment and our health. There are organic fertilizers as well as pesticides. If you need to be environmentally friendly, then your choice must be organic products for the garden. 

Insects and pests are common problems for gardens. The type or the variety of pests that come to the garden depends on the location and crops. You need to struggle a lot to prevent the damages caused by them. Organic or natural pesticides contain no chemical or a small amount of chemical. Many pesticide manufacturers are moving towards these natural pesticides due to the high demand.

Salt is available at every house. Have you ever think that it can be used as a pesticide? A salt spray is ideal for getting rid of spiders. Make a salt solution by mixing it in warm water. Then spray the solution to the infected area. This will eliminate the pests.

Neem oil

Neem is a famous natural pesticide that can control pests’ diseases. You can make neem oil using neem leaves. Take some leaves and grind them well. Then put it into a spray bottle and add some water. Add some organic soap into the solution to get more benefits. You need to spray the solution on the affected area immediately after making it. 

Garlic

You can find garlic in the kitchen. It is good for eliminating beetles and larvae from the garden. It has repellent properties and also adds color to the garden. 

Cultivate trap crops

Trap crops repel pests away from the plants. It is a traditional method to avoid pests in cultivation.  Companion plants also do the same task. Those are planted within the vicinity of the victim plants. They attract beneficial insects like lacewings and ladybirds. They act as a pollination agent too.

You can grow marigold or nasturtiums to deter aphids from attacking beans and carrots. Insects like carrot root flies are highly resistant to these plants.

Though organic pesticides have lots of advantages, they also have some drawbacks. They take a long period to show results. Anyway, the result will last for a long time. You can simply make natural pesticides at home, as mentioned above. But there are organic pesticides available at the market. They cost more than the inorganic ones.
